SWEET SPINE is an exciting new band climbing onto Disrupted Magazine's radar making waves in South Carolina comprised of Fox Haynes, Taylor Priola, and Brannan Crook. Drawing inspiration from icons like Deftones and Paramore while encapsulating the spirit of the 90s rock scene, the young trio has sneakily captured the hearts and minds of the Carolina scene with their high-energy live performances and viral moments.
Lights Out is jolting with ferocious guitar riffs, booming drums, and a seamless blend of alternative, grunge, and rock sounds that work together to create a thrilling yet haunting listening experience. Its distorted, electronic edge helps to reshape the alt-rock space in the modern age, welcoming a gritty, tender sonic experience that takes the iconic sounds of the early days of grunge while intertwining more modern production techniques to create something nostalgic and brand new all at the same time.
Since its birth, the band has stood firmly at the forefront as the leaders in the new generation of the alt-rock scene bringing a fresh, and authentic take on the genre. While experimenting with a range of different influences and styles, SWEET SPINE has created a hybrid genre of its own that pushes the traditional rock boundaries of the past.
SWEET SPINE saw their music come to the forefront of the genre with their viral breakout song Darkness, which was released in July of 2023 after catching traction on TikTok. The track's release launched the band into something of an indie phenomenon gaining widespread acclaim across the scene harboring the opportunity for new music, bigger shows, and out-of-the-box collaborations, proving that they're just beginning with no intentions of slowing down anytime soon.
