Following the release of the lead single Sucker Punch, If I'm Gunna Be Sad (I Might As Well Look Hot Doing It) is the second track to be released from her upcoming EP slated to drop this summer. Pure alt-pop genius with moody production and kittenish lyrics, this euphoric, bad bitch song is a must-have for your hot girl summer playlist.

The juxtaposition of her floaty vocal over the gritty beat perfectly describes the conflicting feelings of a breakup. Along with the rest of the EP, this song is a prime example of Rachel's innate ability to authentically explore dejection in a beautifully vibrant way. About the EP she says: "When people hear these songs, I want them to know it's okay to feel their feelings, to find humor even in the darkness, and to remember that we have the power to define our own self-worth."

Produced and co-written by frequent collaborator Tiger Darrow, Rachel noted the moment that the song blossomed: "We started off writing something that embodied more of an IDGAF attitude, but after a while we realized it just didn't feel super authentic. There was a moment when we were working on it when we realized, okay, maybe we do kind of give a fuck… but if we're going to be sad, we might as well look hot doing it."
