New single "SLIDE" and album announcement from Chase Atlantic

Lots of good news for Chase Atlantic fans this week! The Australian trio announced that their third studio album BEAUTY IN DEATH will be out March 5. In addition, the third single SLIDE from the upcoming album was released today along with a music video.

I'd say Slide is a darker and more mellow track, which differs from the energetic upbeat first single Out the Roof. When I first pressed play, the beat and tempo of the verses instantly reminded me of What U Call That, a song from their EP Don't Try This (2019). Upon further listen, I will say that Slide is completely different from the song mentioned, but it definitely got that "Chase Atlantic vibe" to it. I've always been fascinated by how they mix different elements from different genres of music. They're not a band I would easily put into a specific category, and I think that's one of the things that makes them so different and unique.

Diving back into the new track, it features lead vocals by both Mitchel Cave and Christian Anthony. Lyrics like "I can see the pain in your eyes" and "I'll take you to heaven if you die" really give off a melancholy feel, yet there is something beautiful about it. The track closes out with a saxophone solo by Clinton Cave, something that always makes me excited. The way they implement the saxophone is one of the things I really love about Chase Atlantic's music.
